I've had the good fortune to work with more than a thousand successful GMAT and Executive Assessment students who have gone on to all top 20 business schools. As the co-author and managing editor of Veritas Prep's GMAT curriculum, I got to see the effects of my work on a worldwide scale.
When I myself attended UCLA Anderson to pursue a corporate career, I kept one foot in the testing world, continuing to mentor students at every opportunity.

The Realization
I pursued exciting post-MBA career opportunities, leading consulting projects ranging from M&A strategy to media innovation and managing over $300M in technology relationships for the country's largest independent biotech firm.
Yet I realized that too many talented aspiring MBAs who don't have mentors would never see the career opportunities presented to my students and me. They wouldn't get over the hump with the GMAT and Executive Assessment entrance exams -- and thus wouldn't gain acceptance to competitive MBA programs. Why not? It certainly isn't due to lack of intelligence, but rather lack of access to affordable, high-quality test preparation.
The more I thought about these problems, the more I became convinced that I could do something about them. Namely, I could create a scalable business giving self-motivated students all the tools they needed to self-study for the GMAT, but without the overhead of a huge test-prep company. The GMAT Mentor was born.
